The BenRiach C.S. Peated Batch 01

• The BenRiach Peated Cask Strength Batch 01. Bottled 2017, 56%.

Nez : La tourbe est la première à déclarer sa présence, elle est grasse, miellée. Vanillé tout en restant très frais et fruité, citronné. Il y a également du caramel mou. Il y a vraiment de la texture, un sentiment de densité élevée.

Bouche : Intense et bien entendu très tourbée, la ligne aromatique est bien celle du nez. De la vanille, des agrumes, du caramel. Il y a de ce malt sucré que l'on retrouve dans le new make, des céréales. La puissance bien que perceptible ne provoque aucune instabilité, elle accompagne les saveurs.  

Finale : Toujours tourbée et enveloppante, elle s'assèche néanmoins sur le bois. 

Cette version fait écho à une autre édition cask strength embouteillée à 57,2% sortie en 2016, non tourbée celle là.

Ce BenRiach n'est ni coloré, ni filtré et a poursuivi sa maturation en fûts de bourbon et de sherry.

Sachez qu'il y aura un peu partout en Belgique en cette fin d'année des dégustations articulées autour de The BenRiach.

• The BenRiach Peated Cask Batch Strength 01. Bottled 2017, 56%.
   

Nose: The peat is the first to declare its presence, it is fat, honeyed. Vanilla while remaining very fresh and fruity, lemony. There is also soft caramel. There is really texture, a feeling of high density.

Palate: Intense and naturally very peaty, the aromatic line is that of the nose. Vanilla, citrus, caramel. There is this sweet malt that we find in the new make, cereals. The power although perceptible does not cause any instability, it accompanies the flavors.

Finale: Always peaty and enveloping, it nevertheless dries on the wood.

This version echoes another cask strength edition bottled at 57.2% release in 2016, not peated this one.

This BenRiach is neither colored nor filtered and continued maturing in bourbon and sherry casks.

Be aware that there will be around Belgium at the end of the year tastings based around The BenRiach.

I will have the opportunity to animate one or the other, to follow in the agenda, but here are already two that I can confirm.
